Different Types of Injectables
The different types of injectables Capital Facial Plastic Surgery Offers include the following: Botox, Dysport, & Restylane. These procedures each serve their purpose, depending on the patient’s needs.
Botox
Is a proven winner for the treatment of dynamic wrinkles. It first received FDA-approval for cosmetic use in 2002 and continues to be a top cosmetic treatment. It has been time-tested and has proven its safety and effectiveness after millions of treatments. Our patients love Botox® so much they ask for it by name. Botox® is the most used, most requested, and most tested botulinum toxin product available.
Dysport
Is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, as is Botox®. The formulations for the two products vary slightly. It is Dr. Singleton’s experience that Dysport’s effects usually are noticeable on average one day sooner than Botox®. It is believed that Dysport may work well on patients that react poorly to Botox®. If you’ve had a negative reaction after a Botox® treatment, let Dr. Singleton know. He can help you determine if Dysport is a better fit.
Restylane
Can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). The Restylane family of products are indicated for patients over the age of 21, and includes Restylane®, Restylane-L®, Restylane® Lyft with Lidocaine, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Refyne, Restylane® Defyne and Restylane® Kysse.

BOTOX & DYSPORT

Botulinum toxin treatments, like Botox® and Dysport, are the most popular cosmetic treatment across the U.S. More patients receive botulinum toxin treatments than chemical peels, laser hair removal, IPL, and microdermabrasion combined. Both Botox® and Dysport are FDA-approved for cosmetic use and have an excellent safety record. At Capital Facial Plastic Surgery, these treatments are consistently some of our most popular procedures and our patients love the results they see. Botox® and Dysport work by interfering with communication between nerve cells and muscles. It stops the nerve signals from reaching the muscle, halting muscle contractions and over time, allowing the skin to smooth out. This reaction is temporary, and patients will require ongoing treatment to continue enjoying results.
Patients see results after a Botox®/Dysport treatment in 3-4 days. These results typically last 3-4 months, depending on the patient’s reaction and the areas treated. No downtime is needed, and patients return to work and other activities immediately.

RESTYLANE

Restylane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body's own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines that run from your nose toward the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corners of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines). Additionally, Restylane is FDA-approved for lip enhancement in patients over the age of 21 and are uniquely formulated to give your lips fullness and definition.
Depending on your volume needs, most Restylane treatment appointments last less than an hour and begin to work almost immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, Restylane products act like your body's own hyaluronic acid (and eventually break down naturally). Each Restylane product is designed for a specific purpose.
